Official Announcement Following Moonsighting

First Day of Eid Falls on April 21st

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has officially confirmed that the first day of Eid al-Fitr, marking the end of the holy month of Ramadan, will fall on Friday, April 21st.

The announcement was made following a meeting of the Emirates Moon Sighting Committee, which convened on Thursday evening.

The committee reported that the crescent moon for the month of Shawwal, which marks the start of the Islamic calendar month following Ramadan, was sighted in the cities of Tumair and Sudair.

Eid al-Fitr is a major holiday in the UAE, and is typically celebrated with feasts, family gatherings, and religious observances.

The holiday is expected to start with Eid prayers on Friday morning, followed by a day of celebration.
