2030 Winter Olympics Awarded to French Alps

The XXVI Olympic Winter Games to be Held in France

Paris, July 24, 2024

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has announced that the French Alps will host the XXVI Olympic Winter Games in 2030. The decision was made at the 142nd IOC Session held in Paris today.

"We are delighted to award the 2030 Winter Olympics to the French Alps," said IOC President Thomas Bach. "The bid from the French Alps was outstanding, and we are confident that they will deliver an exceptional Games."

The 2030 Winter Olympics will be the first to be held in France since the 1992 Winter Olympics in Albertville. The Games will be held in the cities of Annecy, Chambéry, Albertville, and Grenoble.

"We are very grateful to the IOC for entrusting us with the honor of hosting the 2030 Winter Olympics," said French President Emmanuel Macron. "We are committed to delivering an unforgettable Games that will inspire future generations of athletes and fans."
